I have been playing tackle football since the second grade, and I can
honestly say that nothing excites me more than being out on the field doing
the thing I love most. But it’s not just the games. It is everything that makes
up our team and this sport. Most players don’t embrace the daily workouts
and practices as much as I do. It energizes me knowing my hard work and
training is going to pay off on Friday nights. I believe this passion, this total
“buy-in” for the game, is necessary to play at the college level.
From the day I first put on a helmet nine years ago, it has always been a
goal of mine to play college football. Football has already changed my life
in so many ways and I want that to continue. It has made me a better
leader and showed me what it means to “have someone’s back”. There is
no better feeling than having fun out on the football field with my
teammates, who have become family. Mostly, football has given me a real
taste of commitment in my life, to my team and to my education. I want the
opportunity to experience the same feelings on a college team. I promise
the same dedication that has been instilled in me at the high school level to
my college athletics, academics and future football family.
