Personal Statement
My name is Bryce Artze. I have been playing football for as long as I can remember. My grandfather has been a high school coach since I was born. It was always a dream of mine to play for him someday. I am living out that dream now. But now it's time to dream bigger.
I play slot receiver, defensive back and kick returner. I am 5'10 and 167lbs. I excel academically when I am training for my sports and participating in them.
I was raised by a single mom and had my grandfather (my high school football coach) as a role model. He has taught me the game of football but more importantly, he has taught me to be a man. Life hasn't always been easy, and I have dealt with adversity on and off the field. Playing the game of football has taught me to be tough. I don't let things get me down and I certainly don't let aches and pains get me down. I know the difference between hurt and injured. That value helps me in life too. I can hurt a little, but that doesn't mean I can't continue to play or continue in life.
This fall, I began my senior year. I worked hard over the summer to be bigger, faster and stronger than ever. I want this year to be a stepping stone that will bring more football games in my future. And it will be an added bonus to have the privilege of getting an incredible education that will be the stepping stone to my career.
