Personal Statement
Growing up, I always looked at football as just a sport, where there are good players and not so good players. I would watch it on tv and watch wherever the football went neglecting the fact that there is so much more going on around it. Playing high school football for only a couple years has taught me much more than the schools could ever teach. I learned that football is the greatest team sport, and with that comes a family. Our coach taught us to hang up our pride and negativity in the locker room, because when we step out on the field, we hold each and every one of ourselves accountable for what happens. We learn to care for each other as brothers and that alone carries itself in the classroom and at home with siblings and my parents, as well as in public, representing where we come from. Football has given me the opportunity to better myself as well as each and every other person on the team. I would want nothing more than to be a leader and student of football for as long as my body will allow. And I believe that what football has taught me, makes me a great leader, and gives me the ability to bring up other people to be their best in everything they do, and there’s no other thing I’d rather be apart of.
