Personal Statement

Hi my name is Steven Verdisco, and I have the goal of playing college football. I play both kicker and punter on the Varsity football team and attend T.R. Robinson high school and enrolled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.  I previously played soccer since age 3 where I started at the local YMCA (kiddy kickers) and from that point have worked my entire life (including experience in the U14 US Developmental Academy and years of training through the Olympic Development program) to develop the leg strength needed to play kicker in college football. I made the decision after all these years of playing soccer, even thought I was playing at the highest level to quit in the Summer 2018 so I could focus completely on developing my kicking and punting techniques. We have a kicking coach at my high school who I worked with exclusively through the Fall of 2018.  In 2019, I began signing up for other camps/combines to find other coaches to further develop my technique. I just recently completed my Junior year.  All of the classes I have taken to date (other than electives) have been at the honors or IB level.  I will be graduating from high school early (Fall of 2019).

I was recently rated as a 5 star kicker by the following individuals:

1) Jamie Kohl (after Southern Showcase on 5/19/19 in ATL, GA).  Also invited to attend the Kohl's National Scholarship Camp in Wisconsin in July 2020.

Placed third in field goal charting at the 2019 Kohl Southern Showcase (ranked #25 kicker on his website for c/o 2020 after this camp).   My statistics from that camp can be found on Kohls website under 2019 Kohl Southern Showcase May 2019.

Attended  Kohl's kicking camp (2 day training held at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL the weekend of March 2-3, 2019).  My statistics from that camp can be found under "press" section of this NCSA website, and

2) Brandon Kornblue after charting an 82 yard kickoff and 60 year field goal (at Spring Showcase on 4/27/19 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL) and (ranked #7 kicker in top 50 Fab Kickers after this camp).  See youtube video for highlights from the Kornblue Spring Showcase event.

3) Chris Sailer (July 2019) after participating in the Top Gun camp in Rock Hill, SC in Summer 2019.  Ranked #27 kicker after attending that camp.

In addition to being ranked a 5 star kicker by Coaches Kohl, Kornblue and Sailer, I was also ranked a 4.5 star punter on both Kohl's and Kornblue's websites.
