My parents tell me a story about feedback my pre-K teacher gave them when I was three years old. During a parent teacher conference to discuss my development, Mrs. Ferrier told them, "I have never seen a three year old with such a mastery of their motor skills in over 20 years of teaching". "Whatever Russell does in life it will involve his physical abilities." Mrs. Ferrier's words line up perfectly with my life's goal(s), which is to use my physical and intellectual abilities to accomplish God's will for my life. I am still young, therefore specific goals are something I am still deciding upon.
When I was in elementary school, my parents put me on all sports teams to find out where my interests lied. I started playing football in 4th grade and fell in love with the game a year later. I currently play wide receiver and special teams on my high school team, however I am willing to play any position where my skills can be utilized. I love running, hitting and competing and want to bring my passion and skills for the game to the collegiate level.
I am interested in attending a university that not only allows me to compete at a high level on the football field, but one that has a competitive academic environment. Football is not forever and I want to obtain an education that will be useful after football is done. I am an honors student at West Orange High School and will be a dual enrollment student at Valencia Community College in my Junior and Senior years. I will be an asset at any university in the classroom and on the field. Our household motto is "Strive for Excellence, not perfection! Have fun pursuing your passion."
