I come from a blended family. I am the youngest of three. I have a half-sister from my mother who is ten years older than myself, and a half-brother from my father who is five years older than myself. I have been influenced by this family makeup as I watched and learned through the trials of my older siblings. As far back as I can remember I have enjoyed the sport of football. I did spend some time in the baseball arena but found a love for football. Through football, I have been able to grow and mature in my ability to control my emotions and have strengthened relationships. In the past year, I have worked through and overcome two different surgeries and look forward to my senior year of football. Some characteristics that I feel I exhibit and are strengths are coachable, hardworking, committed, and determined.
Through experience, I have learned the hard way the importance of playing to the whistle and to the end. Many penalties have taught me to wait until the whistle blows and stop when it blows again. One game last year, our team was up by one point. With 3 seconds left we had stopped the ball on our one-yard line. Thinking we had won the game many teammates were caught off guard when the other team regrouped and passed the ball for a touchdown winning the game in the last three seconds. That was a hard lesson for our team and one I will never forget.
Academically, I plan to attend college. I have been in the Beta club for four years. I have volunteered outside of school in the community at Night to Remember and our local museum -The Booth Museum. I strive to keep my grades up and have taken several AP courses. This coming year I will be dual enrolled for several classes. My current plans are to major in pre-law and move on to law school where I can major in family law.
