Tradition of college football, there is nothing like it! College football games have been a family tradition since I was 3, traveling with grandparents, parents, siblings and even watching my cousin play and grow into a D1 football player. This time spent with family taught me to value the people close and a sense of loyalty to others.
I was active in several sports in my youth as an outlet to release the abundance of energy. Soccer and basketball at the age of 4 and football at the age of 7. My father played a big role in my sports development. It was during the early years of playing soccer, I realized my potential and strength for kicking. It was during my 4th grade little league football season that I would start the journey on my punting/kicking career that has landed me where I am today.
Football has taught me many valuable life lessons such as discipline, teamwork, confidence and work ethic. I set high standards for myself in all areas of my life and have grown this past year mentally and physically. I continually work to grow and get better by staying in the weight room, training with my personal kicking coach and attending Chris Sailer/Kohl’s kicking camps and invitationals year round. I am a fierce competitor and these competitive camps push me and have shown me there is always room for growth. My junior year was full of ups and downs but once region started my season took off and we went all the way to State and Won!! What an experience that was to be on a huge stage and I loved it!!! My senior season has been a great one ending with playing at Mercedes Benz for the 2023 State Championship and winning back to back! These experiences both years have prepared me for a larger stage and prepared me mentally for big games. I can say I have grown alot this year in all aspects of my game. My collegiate goals are to compete for a starting position and continue my hard work and dedication to a team. It is about playing this sport to me, not about the money. I feel like the focus of collegiate sports has turned away from the idea of playing a game that you love and more about what you can earn. I just want to play the game of football and build friendships with my teammates and coaches that go well beyond the 4 years of college.
My academic standards are just as important as my athletic standards. Being inducted into the National Beta Club and National Honor Society is from my hard work in the classroom that I plan to continue in college. I am confident that I can be an asset to a college team with my abilities and support for every player.
