Personal Statement
My football passion began in Dripping Springs, Texas when I was in seventh grade. I didn't even own a football before tryouts. I was just drawn to the game, especially being apart of something bigger than myself and I've been kicking ever since. It wasn't till the end of my eighth-grade year, that I knew my goal was to be a kicker in college. I love being a kicker! I want the pressure of the game-winner because I know when it comes down to it, I will execute.
I have a passion for football and the comradery that it brings. My teammates ask me all the time why did you show up, you're just the kicker. I tell them I am part of the team and wear the same jersey that they do. I do all the same workouts that the whole team does, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I also believe in healthy competition on the field. If someone beats me, I think he deserves it. This pushes me to work that much harder to beat him next time. I bring that same passion in the classroom. Given my learning disability dyslexia, I strive to be even better in the classroom.
As for the things I enjoy off the field, I love helping the youth. I volunteer with some of my teammates to help run a football camp for elementary and middle schoolers. I enjoy helping and being part of my church community. Just last summer I went to the border of Texas and Mexico and built houses. I like helping others and it makes me happy to know that I’m making someone's day better. My football passion started in seventh grade and as my High School career is starting to close, I hope I can start a new chapter in my career and play collegiately.
