I have been fortunate to be part of a winning football program since I began at an early age. While I didn’t realize it at the time, I can now see that these experiences have taught me much about myself and the importance of being part of a team. Contributing to the success of any team I have been a part of has been my primary goal. While we did not win the Class AAAA State Championship in 2020, being named State Championship Runner Up is one of my favorite highlights in football so far. While football is important to me, the importance of being a student-athlete has been my primary focus as evidenced by my current GPA. My experiences have benefited the team on both sides of the ball. This versatility of playing in the following positions: nose tackle, right guard, left guard and center have allowed me to be an integral part of our team’s success. My role as a dual sport athlete also provided me with an opportunity to be part of a State Championship Wrestling Team in 2020, as a three year wrestler in the HWT Division.
As a three year varsity letterman in football and a two year varsity letterman in wrestling, I understand the importance of exhibiting leadership skills, commitment and perseverance to achieve high levels of success in all areas of my life. Mentoring underclassmen has perhaps been one area that has expanded my leadership skills the most. Focusing on personal growth while helping to grow others around me, has helped me mature while also realizing the importance of working for something bigger than myself. In closing, my athletic abilities and versatility will make a positive impact on your football team.
