There are many things that shape me into the person I am today. I have been through many trials and tribulations during my short lifetime. I have experienced many deaths and negative circumstances. I have had to overcome many obstacles to get to where I am today whether it is playing sports with a broken thumb, hustling to finish a project, or just maintaining mental toughness on and off the field. No matter what the obstacle is, my mental toughness fuels me to push through until triumph is finally found. All have molded me into the tough, smart, persistent teenager I am now. My academic goal for college is to major in history and become a college professor after finishing my PHD.
I became interested in sports and wanted to be a great athlete at an early age watching the NFL and MLB and playing little league and travel ball. Playing sports then and now have shown me that I can persevere, and I sacrifice when it comes to my teammates. I am always willing to put it all on the line for the value of the team. I smile, I am positive, and never do I give up.
One of my unique characteristics is being able to maintain mental toughness and play through a crowd. I have a great ability to tune out a crowd. I become so focused at the task at hand that I immerse myself in it completely. My work ethic is great. I work out daily and study daily to constantly get better and hone my crafts. I balance my school work, sports, religion, and family well due to my determination to work hard and do my best always. Because of this, I am a great leader and team player. I am known for doing whatever it takes to pump up my teammates, and they look to me for guidance.
This year I have played four sports. I wrestled for my high school varsity team and qualified for state, ran varsity track and made region, and played football and baseball. Both made it to state. Overall, I am a true athlete that has and will continue to persevere through all circumstances by determining to be better each day.
