I have reached an important point in my life where the decisions I make will begin to shape my future. Throughout my elementary years, I learned about Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits of Happy Kids - The Leader in Me. These habits have guided me through middle and high school with help from my parents, teachers, and coaches. All these encompassing factors have influenced my life outlook, ideology, and helped me navigate life’s obstacles.
On the surface, I think I am like most young men. However, what makes me different from the rest of the crowd is my determination and drive to succeed. From a young age, I remember my mother saying, “An idle mind is the devil’s playground.” Her words have kept me focused on school and in sports. I played football, basketball, and baseball through the years and maintained a steady GPA of 3.0 or above.
Being a high school athlete has allowed me to develop many interpersonal skills. I am hard-working, reliable, dependable, and will step up when needed. I am also open-minded and able to communicate effectively. I can adapt to unexpected changes and rise to the challenge. I am a versatile player and able to play both offense and defensive. Sprayberry offensive line was recognized during the 2020 season. We earn a historic win in the first round of the Class 6A state playoffs. It was the first state playoff win in the history of the program. I channel these skills to produce my outlook in life, create goals for the future, and most importantly, have the will and confidence to succeed.
I take my education seriously and have set goals for my future. I am confident that determination and the work ethic that has been instilled in me will continue in college where I hope to balance academics and athletics. I plan to make my college experience a well-rounded one, exceeding in academics while performing at high levels in athleticism.
