Personal Statement
When I was 5, I was on a little league team, the VT Hokies. My coach, at that time, would run us until someone threw up. We worked hard and went into the playoffs with one loss. We rode a limo to the championship game which was against the one team we had lost against in the season, the Oregon Ducks. Not only did we win, we destroyed them. I could have easily quit then. I was at the top in my little league mind anyway. But, as my coach says, "Don't let your best be yesterday." I continue to pursue excellence in my life and in football. At ELCA, we watch film at 6:00 a.m. I go to school from 8:00 a.m. - 3 p.m., which includes an honors course and another opportunity to work out in Varsity Sports. Then, we often practice from 3:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. In spite of the long practice hours, camps, and games, I maintain good grades, and also volunteer in the community and at church when I'm available. My team is excellent, not because of me but because we push each other like "iron sharpens iron." I don't want to think of not playing football after high school. I would appreciate the opportunity to play at the college level. I'll bring my drive, enthusiasm, hard work, and integrity with me. I need a place to continue to grow and build community with a team after high school. I would love to talk with you to learn more about your team.
