Hi Coaches!
I love football. In today’s day and age, that isn’t always the case with college and NFL players. I love working out and the nutrition part. Those two have become a daily part of my life. I love physicality and contact. I love practicing with my boys (except when someone gets hurt) and the games are a fantastic reward for all of the hard work we’ve put in. If you remember anything about this statement, I hope it is this.
My dream school is UGA. Both my parents went there, my uncles and aunts went there and we religiously watch and attend games. That said, I just want to play football.
I started playing when I was 5 years old. I played 2 seasons of flag football and then began tackle football in 3rd grade. I began as a starting QB and then added LB playing both ways. In 7th grade, I decided to drop the QB role and focus on LB. I was a 5 time all star between 3rd grade and 8th grade both as a QB and LB. My freshman year in HS, I started at ILB for the JV team and dressed for Varsity playing most games on Kickoff and then a backup role at ILB. I got hurt in fall camp of my sophomore year and when I recovered, we were too far into the season for me to start.
I was a starter at ILB my junior year and recorded 120 tackles (98 solo), 9.2 tackles per game, 18 tackles for a loss (led region), 2 sacks, 4 fumble recoveries, 5 pass breakups and 1 TD. I was mentioned in the All Region team after the first full season I was a starter.
I think that my time spent as a starting QB provided me with an excellent insight into how offenses run, schemes, tendencies, concepts and while watching film. It helps me react quicker after the snap because I can identify the offense.
I’m a great student with excellent grades and always have been. I will be prepping for the ACT and SAT soon and then taking the tests.
Again, I love football and would love a chance to talk to some coaches.
All the best,
Tyler Harrison
