Tanner Starkey '14 Recruiting Profile

My dream is to play college football and have the time of my life doing it.

"Tradition never changes, Champions do"  I like new approaches to familiar situations. Finding a better way to do something is the challenge I enjoy when opportunities present themselves. The sport of Football gives me those situations, and coaches who make adjustments and "think outside the box" are my heroes!

"Leadership by Example" is one of my favorite mantras. I think I am a mature person and respect people I meet. I look forward to leading my teammates on and off the field in any challenges we encounter.

"An effort worth doing is an effort worth winning". I play every game to the best of my ability and lay it all out there on the field. At the end of   every game, I always ask myself, "Did I do everything I could do to help my team be successful?" I must answer in the affirmative to fulfill my inner commitment to my team and to myself.

On Kicking: I would like to play Division 1 or 2 football. Kicking comes natural to me. I have had 7 years of soccer experience to help me understand how to make contact with the ball and develop accuracy. I am fortunate to have an excellent power stroke. I wish I had more opportunities to make 40+ yard kicks during games! I can Kick long field goals!
