Personal Statement
I am currently a junior at Aurora Central Catholic High School in Aurora, IL. I have gone to a Catholic school since preschool and I thank my parents for allowing me to do so. It has taught me to have respect for others and be a kind helping person who strives to get better.
I have played sports from around 5 years old. I started with T-ball, youth basketball, and flag football through a local club and i have never stopped playing. Although I have played three sports for many years, my favorite is football. I started playing tackle football at age 8 through a travel football team called the Fox Valley Gators. We played against other travel football teams in the Chicago area.
In fifth grade I was able to start playing football for my school. In grade school I played inside and outside linebacker and half back. In 8th grade, I won the Talkington award. This award is for someone who shows good leadership and heart on the field, but also in the classroom.
I went on and played high school football. I played outside linebacker freshman year and sophmore year. This year i have played middle linebacker and guard with a little defensive end.
I love football because it brings out the best in people and shows who is there for you and won't give up. I grew up with football and i loved it ever since. I like the teamwork, big hits, and big plays that involve every one on the team. I am the youngest of three boys. My mom is a nurse and my dad is a owner of a local business. Football runs in my family. My grandpa, uncles, and older brothers all played football.
In my free time i like to fish and spend time with friends and family. I volunteer at my school and help an organization called Cosmopolitan which helps raise money for diabetes education and camp for children. In school math is my strong point, but I am very interested in history. I would like to go to college for a degree in business.
Thank you for viewing my profile. I hope to hear from you soon. - Drew Babler
