Personal Statement
I first fell in love with football when I was in the eighth grade. It was the first year my mom gave me permission to play. From then on I knew that I wanted to play college ball. I have had to overcome many obstacles throughout my high school career. For example my sophomore year was the first time I started varsity for my school. Halfway through the season I pulled my groin. I was out for the rest of the season. I was really upset because I didn’t get to play with my friends on the field. Later on that winter I was considering not playing football anymore because I wasn’t very good. Thankfully I had two coaches that believed in me. They talked me into staying and gave me positive reinforcement. I thank God for placing those two men in my life. They believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. My biggest role model is my mom. She raised me as a single mother my whole life. She has taught me to be tough and to always keep my head held high. I’m different from other high school recruits.
The reason I’m different from other recruits is that I don’t need to be in the spotlight. I’m okay with being the underdog. I am very coachable. I am very respectful, yet at the same time I have that killer instinct on the field . I am an extremely hard worker , and finally I will put the team first before myself. My passion for the game is there in my footwork is really good. I can tackle well and I love a challenge.
I had two really good back to back seasons for a combined of 172 tackles in two years. I I would love to play for any college but preferably a bigger one with higher competition. What fuels me to still play is my love for the game, my drive to succeed for myself and my family, and to prove all the people that said I can’t do it wrong
