It was a night game. I felt the sweat dripping down my face, while my heart was beating rapidly in and out. I felt the wind blow on my face as I ran pass the blockers in order to make the tackle. Then all of a sudden, BOOM! I slung my body into the Quarterback. When I got back up, I remember feeling a rush that I never felt before. My teammates were shaking me, but it was like I wasn't even paying attention. I was too focused and into the game. Just a few plays before the big play I was sitting on the sideline. I heard my Coach yell at me for not making an impact. “ Chris! Thats 3 plays where they could have been stopped if you would have done your job”. My Coach put me back on the field two plays later. I was energized and ready to go; however, as I ran onto the field, doubt came into my mind things like “ what if you miss another tackle” or “ can you really do this?” When the play started, I was so distracted and unfocused that the next thing I felt was an impact that sent me flying. All I felt was pain on the way to the ground. My Coach’s words popped into my head that said, “ Chris, you’re thinking too much before you react”. As I looked to the sideline, I saw a disappointed look on my Coach’s face, but my coach kept me in the game. This is when the fire that was my passion for football was lit within me. In that moment was when I actually stopped thinking about my next move and just did it. I stopped doubting my abilities and started believing in myself. This is when I actually began to try and football became my passion. This passion grew to the point where I now cannot live without football. The next play was the play that changed my life. The moment I decided to stop doubting myself and put forth my full effort, the next play was shut down. As I ran to the backfield, I saw the running back running to the outside. I chased the running back down and tackled him from behind. This play established the official birth of my love for football.
“To be able at any moment to sacrifice what you are for what you will become.” This quote is what changed me and my mindset going into football. This quote, along with many others, inspired me to be better than what I was showing. Everything and every person that has been put in my life has been there to push me to the next level and to help me Identify my passion. This is why I'm so appreciative and careful with every interaction I make because I know that every person that I meet will push me to the next level in my passion and further toward my ultimate dream. The people I interact with on a daily basis support my dreams and aspirations and support me in what I want to do. My Coaches, my family, and my friends are all motivations in my life that inspired me to play football and push me further toward my dreams. I wouldn't be able to do anything if it wasn't for the support of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If it wasn't for His help, I wouldn't be able to aspire to what I want to be. What this is to say that everybody up until now has been placed in my life to push me forward to my destiny, and since I've been pushed and motivated
in my passion. I have no problem pursuing it. Until this day, I still have motivators that believe in me.This gives me plenty of courage when it comes to competing and giving 120% on every play in football.
