2016-Football has been a key factor in shaping my life. From bringing me out of my shell in my early days of flag football, to teaching me about life. How to win graciously and how to learn from a loss. It has taught me to be a leader, how to be a team mate, and how to be a winner. It has also shown me how hard work pays off and how to apply my skills and strengths. I would like to use my skills on the field to better myself by graduating from college and apply the same fundamentals to developing a career and a family. Team Player. Strong work ethic. Confident. Aggressive. Coachable. Leader. Passionate about the game, school, life.
2017- As I continue my goals in life, I find myself leaning towards the Medical profession in some capacity. I have enjoyed a strong Freshman season and believe that I have been able to demonstrate my ability to drive our offense down the field and be the "go to" guy when yardage must be had. When JJ Watt looks at me across the line, he knows that I have put in the time and the work. I am what my dad calls a "blue collar" lineman. Where ever I am needed, what ever needs done, look for me to do it. Never quit till the whistle blows. Mature, makes good decisions, dedicated to whatever I put my efforts into.
2018-Unbelievable year with awesome team mates. "Proving the doubters wrong one game at a time". 10-3 record Made it to the Elite 8 in IHSA 4A. Team broke records for most points in 9 game season, most points in full season, most points in a game, most passing TD's in a game and a season, most passing yards in a game and season. 1250 yard season for my running back. First and last TD were scored behind me as a Sophomore. OL stats are displayed on the scoreboard. Coach says they like me because I move people.
2019-Another amazing year. Advanced to the state semi finals and finished with a 12-2 record. Minor knee isssue sidelined me for part of the season yet was still named to the All Conference team and Decatur Herald & Review All Area Team. Amazing team mates. Some I will miss next year and others I look forward to doing battle with next year. Definitely took care of "Unfinished Business" and look forward to 2020.
And on the 8th day, God created football.
Then he created the Head Coach. Coach said "Give me something to build on"
Not a Quarterback, Running Back or a Receiver
5 men that act as one
5 men that love the game. who will endure pain, blame, and suffering
5 men that will selflessly give of themselves so that others may succeed
5 men who won't be interviewed, be in the news,or on the PA
5 men who are not measured by individual stats, but by points on the scoreboard and wins in the column
Who the end of a game are exhausted from the battle
And look not to celebrate, but to live in the moment.
"That's where I'll start and build from there"
God then created the Offensive Line
And it was good and so it began.
2021- 5-0 undefeated season Unanimous selection First Team Apollo Strong Guard
