Personal Statement
Football to me isn't just something to pass the time by or a sport that I do after school to be involved, It is more of a lifestyle to me. Being a football player in high school to me means taking career of my job in the classroom and the field. That means working hard to achieve my academic dreams of becoming a surgical practitioner in the medical field as well as going to volunteer morning weightlifting workouts, opting for strength and conditioning over regular required gym classes, attending and giving full effort mentally and physically during practice.
Football just like academics isn't something that can be confined to such a short amount of time that practice allows in my opinion. I treat a game the same way as a test. full concentration in the classroom, studying as early as possible for tests in order to prepare, making a game plan of how to study, focusing more on my weaknesses, and finally getting good nutrition and rest the night before. This I translate into football by paying attention and going through or refining mechanics crucial needed for the week ahead in practice, watching film on the other tem studying the defensive lines preferred pass rush and get of moves along with any blitzes that may be thrown my way, from there going over mechanics in the run and pass game that will neutralize the specific player(s) which I will be matched up against and finally having a focused mentality and primed physical condition for game day.
The most important lessons which I have taken away from football is that nothing can be earned without hard work and dedication no matter what it may be and that you give your all not for yourself but the person to your right and your left. It has helped me become a better person socially, academically, and athletically, be better prepared to achieve my future career goals, learn to work as apart of a unit, and taught me how to overcome life's adversity. For these reasons football holds a special place in my heart that guarantee whichever football school I go to will not only, have a capable player on their roaster, but also a student-athlete, family member, and self determined individual to bring success to myself and those around me.
