My goal since the day I started playing football at the age of 6 was to play for a team like Michigan State, or that caliber, and still is. Through the years of playing local organized football, I have played MLB, ILB, RB, & QB. As a high school freshman, I played middle linebacker, and running back. I managed to score 17 touchdowns, and was not allowed to run in the second half. As a sophomore, I was moved to the varsity team as starting inside linebacker & kickoff returner, and backup running back. I was coached by High School Hall of Fame Coach Dave Proffitt. Coach Proffitt, and all of the coaches and players I am blessed to be with at Lake Zurich strive for hard work and ethical actions on and off the field. I'm very proud of the steps I have taken to get here, and blessed to have had great people around me. It makes me want to represent these people, work hard, and succeed! I was out with a hamstring tear most of my junior year. This was very hard on me because our team placed 2nd in state under the guidance of our new coach Luke Mertens. I made the decision to look at the long term big picture though with my recovery and to rehab the leg 100% before pushing on. I didn't want to risk my future by reinjuring it prematurely. At this point I am 100% recovered, ran track this spring, have been lifting with the team, worked with personal speed & strength trainer at DIPT through winter, and am ready to start summer football camp strong. Our squad of juniors moving to senior level next year have lost only one game of competition football at Lake Zurich in 3 years, and that happened to be the state game last year. With many of those players and myself returning next year, I look forward to another successful year. I also play baseball, and have been approached by 3 schools. At 12 years old I won the fastest runner competition in Cooperstown against 38 other national teams. I also am on my third year of varsity track, and hold the freshman record for the 100 meter dash at Lake Zurich. Football is my passion however, and what I feel would make my college experience complete. Again, I am very proud of the choices I have made through my life. I want to be me, and be the best me possible. I would like to continue this with a great college experience including a successful collegiate football team. The camaraderie of a football team, from coaches, to players, to parents, and even the fans helps build self confidence, and makes you feel like you are part of something much bigger than just yourself. I dream of this experience when I attend college.
