From a young age I have always been interested in sports as a whole. I have played some kind of sport every year for the past 12 years of my life. I decided to play football my freshman year and fell in love with the process of the game. Participating in sports growing up has taught me to not only adapt to different coaching styles but also learn to collaborate well with others. I believe sports can teach you a lot of valuable life lessons such as: leadership, good sportsmanship, and how to be a team player.
So far in my high school career, I, along with my team, went undefeated in conference our sophomore year. Although we didn’t receive any trophy for our accomplishment, I believe it taught us what can happen when you put in the work and take the time to become something greater. This, along with many other moments in my life, have shaped me into the person I am today. I have been told I am a fast learner and very coachable by past teachers and coaches. I am a team player and will never sacrifice my team’s goal to put the spotlight on myself alone. I believe people work best when they work together. Off the field, I strive to do my best academically and maintain a good balance between sports and academics. As I continue to learn more about life, I remember to learn from my past and focus on how I can improve in the future. This, along with a winning spirit, I know I can make a difference in your program!
