Personal Statement
My freshman and sophomore years were challenging with seasons canceled or reduced by covid and overcoming an injury, but I put in the extra effort last year to make up for lost time. I began kicking my junior year, in addition to playing varsity soccer and competing in track and field. I quit soccer to focus on football this fall and saw vast improvement in my performance. I still feel I have much room for improvement going forward. I enjoy the challenge presented by the many aspects of kicking.
Away from sports I am in multiple leadership roles, including as the president of Interact and a peer mentor for Goodwill Good Guides. My involvement with school clubs and sports teams has allowed me to build relationships with diverse people.
I was diagnosed with ADD during my Junior year. Though it had been difficult, I am proud of how I managed school without treatment and how I have improved my performance with treatment.
I have always loved sports, and I hope that I will be able to continue competing in football after high school.
