Personal Statement

I found the love for football at a young age.  All the contact and roughness just gave me a thrill and passion for the game.  I have played football my whole life thanks to my dad,  Paul Tewes.  My dad played college football and that's one of the reasons I love it because I always wanted to follow in his footsteps. He coached me from 3rd grade all the way up to my freshman year and he tried to teach me everything he knew.  He wouldn't have stopped for the rest of my life, but a tragedy happened before the season of my sophomore year.  My dad died on the 4th of August, 2016.  He coached me to play with integrity and respect but also keeping the aggression,  drive,  and determination on the field and in life.  He and I talked at length about my goal to play college football and that's what I want to do,  I want to play college football.  I want to play because not only do I want to do it for him, but I want to do it because when I play it makes me feel like he is not gone.  I want my college years to be for personal growth for me physically,  as a player,  and also as a man.  My college major is undecided, but I want to do something that involves me working with my hands or being outside.  My father always told me never to set your goals too high but never cut them too short.  So my goals for my college career are to keep playing as an aggressive,  dynamic,  physical football player and have a positive influence on the team as a leader.  I want to and will strive to be an asset to the offence,  defense,  or special team position. I want to grow both physically and mentally to achieve these things.  Most of all,  I will continue to conduct myself with integrity,  honor,  respect on and off the field,  knowing that the way I carry myself reflects my team,  my coaches,  the school I attend,  and more than anything my dad and my family.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
