I am a 5'11" Junior quarterback from Riverside, Illinois. I was a starting QB on both my freshman and sophomore teams over the past two years and am looking forward to my 2020 Spring varsity season at Riverside-Brookfield High School. It is one of my biggest life goals to play football at the college level and I am working very hard to make this dream come true. I am a multi-sport athlete and just completed my sophomore basketball season. I work in the football off-season with personal QB coaches multiple times a week, along with weight training and conditioning. I am also getting my receivers and other skill positions together as many times as possible to try to improve.
While football is my passion, academics are my first priority and will be a very important component of my college selection process. I have a 4.33 weighted GPA with several honors and AP classes on my schedule. While I have yet to take the ACT, I have taken one SAT, and will continue to take prep courses for both exams. My first SAT score was a 1440, with a 790 in the math section and a 650 in the reading section.
As I am just starting the college exploration process, my mind is wide open to various university size, location and division options. I believe I can fit in at the DI, DII, or DIII levels depending on the school and opportunity. I would like to find a college football program where I can feel at home and as a part of the football family, where I can play and make a strong impact on the team. I am undecided as to a major just yet, but am interested in engineering, architecture, as well as sports and science related occupations.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me better. If there is one thing that you take away from this personal statement, it would be that I am a very focused and hard worker and would put my absolute best into my college academic and football experience with you.
Sincerely,
T.J. Sloan, Class of 2022
