Personal Statement

I want to leave my own legacy. I want to be in the Hall of Fame too. When I was born the first thing that was put in my crib was a football. My dad is a Hall of Fame player and coach and has taught me how to be a leader, hard worker and have a winning attitude. Losing isn’t an option in our house. Since I was brought up around the game being played at a professional level, the stage has never been too big for me. My team has won 6 out of the 7 championship games that I have had the privilege to play in.

I’ve been “that guy” who has thrown the game winning touchdown pass on the last play of the game. I’ve been the guy who has returned the punt as time expired to win the game to go to the championship. I’ve been the guy to hit the game winning shot at the buzzer 6 times. I am the guy who gets the team to believe we can make a fourth quarter comeback and win the game.

I don’t want to be in the shadows of my father’s success. Even though we share the same name, I want to be the person people think of when they hear the name Mike Hohensee. I WILL leave my own legacy.

Over the past few years I have come to realize that the decisions I make in the next 5 years will determine how my life will be for the next 40. When football is over, I plan on pursuing a career as a Physical therapist/Athletic trainer. I want to be able to stay involved in sports and have a positive impact in a career that I will love.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
