Personal Statement
I'm a 5'11" 192# starting varsity "Will" OLB finishing my senior year at Schaumburg High School in Schaumburg, IL. I am also used on kickoff coverage team and the field goal blocking unit on special teams and on punt. I currently have a 3.2 weighted GPA and also scored a 1220 on the March 2018 SAT.. Proud recipient of MSL All Conference 2018 and voted MVP Defensive Player by my teammates. I have been a starter at all levels of football in high school and I will be a second-year varsity starter as a senior this year. Throughout my high school career, I have been able to manage a tough honors class schedule while participating in multi-season sports. In college, I intend on earning an engineering degree, specifically civil engineering. Although football is my passion, my education is most important to me, so I wish to go to a school that recognizes and encourages that ideal.
Two things that I take great pride in and that set me apart are that I am known for being very coachable and I am a very vocal leader on defense. Although I am willing to switch positions at the college level if necessary, at Schaumburg High, I am primarily the "Will" linebacker in a base cover-2 4-3 defense, where I am used primarily to blitz. I am also frequently used to cover the slot receiver. In our scheme, the defensive coordinator calls our base defense and many times, I am allowed to use my judgment whether I will blitz or not. This is a trust from the coach that I have earned and that I highly value. In return, I was voted the "Most Improved Player" this past year. Personally, football taught me that I can be part of something bigger, I can belong, and I have a voice. This is a lesson I bring with me every time I step on the field and in everything else I do in life.
