Personal Statement
I started varsity middle linebacker and offensive guard as a junior this year. My achievements this year include All Conference First Team Offense and Defense, First Team Western Illinois Area, First Team All Area All Stars and I led our team in tackles with 77 tackles and 7 tackles for loss. Our team went 11-2 for the season losing to the eventual state champs in the semi-finals. I started varsity at middle linebacker as a sophomore also. Some of my achievements as a sophomore included All Area, All Conference, Academic All Conference, and FFA Scholarship GPA Award. So far this season I have been named Player of the Week and been featured on local radio as the High School Spotlight. My team finished with a record of 10-1 for last season. I have worked hard to gain strength and speed and currently squat 405 (3X), hang clean 255(6X), and max out on bench at 325. I am working to improve my starts to improve my 40 yard dash and currently run a 4.92. I have also focused on improving my GPA and raised my sophomore GPA to a 3.5/4.0.
Playing football at the collegiate level and receiving a degree in an agriculture related field has been a goal of mine for a long time, driving me to work hard and set goals for myself as a student and as an athlete. I have a strong passion for football. Being part of the football team has taught me a strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment to the team. I also have a strong passion for farming. Growing up on a farm has taught me some of the same things: a strong work ethic, independence, and commitment to the family farm business. I think these two passions, more than anything, make me a strong candidate for college athletics.
