Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Chandler Nicholson and I play football for Bedford North Lawrence High School in southern Indiana. We are a 5a football team and are currently in the rebuilding process with our new head coach Steve Weber. I started playing football in second grade and have been in love with the game since then. My freshman year, I started strong safety. My team and I was undefeated conference champs.  In the conference championship game, I had the game turning plays as I helped lead our team back from a 31-16 fourth quarter deficit to go on to win 35-31. My sophomore year I played weak side linebacker on varsity. I had to play JV for the first few games until i proved i was ready to play varsity. My junior year I played Weak Safety, Slotback, and some Quarterback. I was a captain and was awarded HHC-All Conference and MVP on the year. For my senior year my class improved our record by 4 wins. I was a team captian, was awarded All-Conference, and was named to the AP All-State 2nd team.

Our weight lifting program is helping me and everyone else on my team out tremendously. We do the bigger faster stronger work outs. We lift five days a week, each day  we work on different lifts and muscle groups. We do a lot of agility and conditioning as well. I work hard in the classroom with a 3.78 overall. I love football and hope to continue playing after high school.

I was fortunate enough to play in the US National Development Games in College Station, TX and be part of the US National team. Had an interception and about 8 tackles in about 2-3 quarters of playing time.

Outside of football, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I like helping them out with anything they might need.
