Personal Statement

Follow me on Hudl.

I had a great start to my Sophomore season. I was a returning starter from my freshman year as a tight guard in a wing T offense, on a very heavy senior led team. I was also getting time as a defensive end in a 4-3 cover 2 style defense, and was preparing to be a two way starter going into week four of the regular season. I however I sustaied a right knee injury during that week of practice, that eventually was diagnosed as a torn ACL. I had surgery on November 15, 2016 and was told by the surgeon that he would not release me to full activity for at least 5 months, and more likely 6 months. The doctor however doesn't know my drive to compete and return to the field for my junior season. I was released by my doctor on March 13, 2017, two days shy of four months from total ACL replacement, to full activity. I have surpassed every test and rehabilitation mark that they have tasked me with. I am now getting bigger and stronger through strength training, and I am participating in speed and agility training twice a week with certified trainers specific to football. I am determined to have a break out junior season.

After returning from a shortened Sophomore season due to a torn ACL, I had a break out Junior season in 2017. I was a full time starter as a split tackle in a Wing T offense, and was getting 50% of the plays as a Defensive End in a 4-3 cover 2 style defense. By midway through the season I took over the starting spot on defense as well and became a two way starter. I competed in every game and post season. I was honored as an all conference Offensive Lineman and Offensive Lineman of the year for our team. Off season workouts have been going well and have increased my strength and size in preparation for my Senior year.

Finished my senior season with my best season yet. Our team finished tied for second place in the conference and made it to the  second round of our playoffs. I was named a Captain all year and enjoyed being a leader. Post season awards consisted of Offensive Lineman of the Year, All Conference 1st Team, 1st Team all area Defense and Associated Press 1st Team All State. I have verbally committed to play in college, but still have my options open.
