Edgar Gonzalez '21 Recruiting Profile

    I am a 6'1, 170 lbs all-around safety from Hammond, Indiana. I have played 3 years of varsity football for Donald E. Gavit High school, and have started the last 2 years as a sophomore and junior. In my sophomore year of football I led my team in interceptions, and in my most recent junior year I led my team in tackles. What I can offer to a team is leadership, hard work, and determination. I am familiar with being a leader, I was a team captain and a leader of my teams defensive backs. I am hard working and I do everything possible, such as lifting, running, eating right, and playing beneficial sports in the off season; in order to make myself bigger, stronger, faster, and smarter. I have a high level of determination constantly flowing through me to beat all obstacles and accomplish all goals inside and outside of the sport of football.  My determination to be the best I can leads me to after every game, that within 24 hours I watch film over myself at least four times. Once with my mom right after the game, then once by myself before bed, then the next morning with my team, and finally with my uncle after Saturday practice. 

    I am interested in colleges or universities in the Midwest, but mostly Indiana and all the states that surround it. I am also interested in going to schools In or near the states Florida or Massachusetts. Even though I have these areas as interests; I am open to all types of schools from anywhere, and am more than open to looking at all opportunities presented to me. I am interested in business, so when I get into college my plan is to go into a business major. Some collegiate athletic goals I have is to be able to play at the highest level possible to my ability, and to be able to make an positive impact in someway by the time I graduate with a college degree.
