Dear Coaches,
My name is Elijah Williams, and I am a 17-year-old Senior at Warren Central High School. I have been playing football for 6 years; primarily as D-Line during my high school career. In my senior year, my coaches saw my potential and moved me to O-Line where I am currently a 2-way starter. I have been a part of the winning 6A 2018 State Championship and the winning 2019 Section 4 Championship. Presently my team is the 2020 Section 4 Champions. I aspire to attend a four-year college that best fits me academically and athletically. My goal is to play college football while graduating with a degree in Business and Finance with a focus in Accounting. I am adamant about seeing my full potential on and off the field and desire to be in the right environment that will help me achieve just that.
My love and skill for the game has grown immensely in the last four years. The camaraderie, bonds, and lasting relationships I have built with my brothers is an experience I would never give away and will take with me as I move towards the future.
My passion during each game is ignited as soon as I walk onto the field and look into the eyes of my opponent to see if he wants it bad enough. Football is my craft and I take it very seriously. From the practice, to the actual game night, and the after game; I absorb all that I can to make my next encounter with the next team even stronger and harder than before. I am eager to study the film to learn where my opportunities for growth are and to also to enjoy the fruits of my team’s labor.
I try to take the dedication I have on the field and use that same energy with bettering myself and the community. During my high school career I have participated in the Center for Leadership Development where I was involved with Project MR (Male Responsibility). This program was to equip and empower young African-American males for achievement and success. I completed this project and learned the principles, behaviors, and values that are going to lead me to personal success. Additionally, I have given my time to the Convoy of Hope which is a faith-based, humanitarian organization that provides food to the less fortunate and Pack Away Hunger which is a nonprofit organization working to end malnutrition.
Academically, I have suffered some challenges with coursework and grades. I made it a learnable and teachable moment for myself and it taught me time management, prioritization, and how to ask for help. I am determined to be educated first and foremost while I pursue my dream of playing football.
