My NCAA ID #1402621214
Hi, my name is Chase Cope and I attend Monrovia High School in the small bustling town of Monrovia, Indiana where football is the heart of our town. I'm in the class of 2016. I stand 6'0'' tall and weigh 275 pounds. I have big dreams of playing football at the collegiate level. No one in my family has been to college let alone play a college sport. I want to be the first one in my family to do both of these. I myself think I am very coachable. I work well with my teammates. I have very good communication with my fellow teammates while on the field. I am very eager to earn a college education while playing the sport I'm most passionate about. I am a student-athlete in high school and I want the "prestige" of being a collegiate level student-athlete.
Freshman Year - 2012
I competed on our junior varsity team and during practice was in on every scout team possible to help make our Varsity better. I replicated opponents offenses and defenses to the best of my ability. I improved my 40 time by .36 seconds. I lifted and conditioned to be the best player I could be.
Sophomore Year - 2013
I started Varsity and we finished 5-6 and lost in the second round of sectional 37 to the to-be 2A state champions, Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter. Halfway through the season I spiral fractured my dominant hand. I had surgery and was fitted with 3 permanent screws in my hand. I sat out for 2 weeks after surgery. I then was able to get back on the field and play with an air cast over my hard cast. Even with those set backs I still earned All-Conference Honors for OL and I was first 1st team All-Area OL.
Junior Year - 2014
I returned as a Varsity starter in 2014. My team and I finished the season with multiple records broken and a few championships. This was out first year in our new athletic conference, the Indiana Crossroads Conference. We finished with to many single records to count. The most notable record was achieved in week 14 where we broke the Indiana state single season rushing record with 5,805 yards. We achieved a Sectional and Regional Championship. We also finished in 2nd place in the new conference. All in all, we completed the season with an 11-3 record. I earned First Team All-State HM.
Senior Year - 2015
I returned as a third year varsity starter in 2015. Records were broken, losses were avenged, and a state championship was won! A 14-1 record was earned this season. In our second year in the conference we were co-champs because the conference does not have tie breakers. None the less, conference co-champs in our second year is a great achievement. A sectional championship followed, then a regional where we avenged our 2014 semi-state loss with a 40-20 win. Semi-state championship followed with a 37-31 win over an incredible Indianapolis Howe team. State finals week was crazy with no school and Thanksgiving but it was an amazing feeling to step out on to Lucas Oil Stadium in front of thousands of people and bring home Monrovia's first state championship. We also broke the Indiana State Rushing Record for a single season with 6,368 yards. Individually, I was a defensive leader with 9.0 sacks, 18.5 tackles for loss, and 58 total tackles. I earned first team All-Area DL, All-Area player of the year, first team All-Conference DL, and first team All-State OL on the coaches poll and AP. I was also named an honorable mention for the All-USA indy metro team for DL.
Academically I am a very hard worker. I carry a 3.17 core-unweighted GPA.
