Dear Coaches
Hi my name is Raquan Lindsey from Portage,IN, where I play Defensive End for the Portage High School Indians football team. I graduate in 2017 and due to my love and commitment to football I think I'll be a good fit for your program. Id love to become a student athlete on the college level.
I've been into organized sports since I was 6. Rather it was baseball, basketball, track or football I love competing and challenging myself to be the best. Clearly football is my #1 focus, I pride myself at being the top performer in the weight room, practice drills and on the track at 6'3 and 235 pounds. I've received in house awards of Defensive prep player of the Year and Lifter of the Year from my Portage High School team. My Junior season that recently past I was tied for 3rd in the DAC conference in sacks. I bench press 310lbs, clean 335lbs and squat 500lbs and recently I ran a 40 in 4.68 seconds at Central Michigan University's football camp this summer. Having a Student-Athlete experience at a large high school such as Portage, I feel will only benefit in my transition to college. I've also played basketball my 9th and 10th grade years, but this Junior year I will be running track. Being a 2 sport athlete keeps me working hard and staying competitive all year round.
Currently my GPA is about an 2.6. I'm definitely not happy about it, so I've been working with my high school counselor Mrs. Frame, swapping core classes into my schedule to get my GPA up. Right now my goal is 3.0 or higher. I've taken the SAT this past June 5th and currently awaiting results. I'm setting my goals high academically until I graduate in 2017. Tinkering with computers have always fascinated me growing up, rather its building or programming them. I'm seeking a college that can offer me a degree in that field, preferably Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
I've been staying after school and going to the neighborhood gym 6 days a week bulking up for next year. Going into my senior year my goals are to be leader on and off the football field and becoming the best defensive end in Indiana's 6a class. Thanks for your time coach Coaches. It would be a dream come true to be a part of your program in 2017.
