I am going to major in Information Security at an undetermined college/university. I am a hard-working, focused and dedicated teammate and student. I am a non-traditional high school athlete who has overcome numerous obstacles with persistence and commitment. I have set goals and worked each year to excel as a defensive team member. I come into each day with a good attitude, a willingness to learn a desire to always improve.
I started playing football when I was in the 3rd grade, and I've loved playing it ever since. Friends and family who watched me play football continued to encourage me, even if we didn't have winning seasons, but I was still motivated to continue to get better. I also found that football not only keeps me fit, but it helps me manage stress. This is the perfect sport for me to take any aggressions out when my foot hits the field. Time management and the importance of technique also became more important as I grew older and studied film.
I'd say over the past two years, my body has had the most change in growth, which has allowed me to feel more confident and become more aggressive on the line. Not only have I improved in the weight room, I have worked on speed which gets me off the line faster to have an advantage against pulling guards. I learn quickly and easily, I help teach my new team mates and try to help our team work more as a unit.
As far as education, I love being around my hometown and family, so I would like to attend a school around Indiana to further my education in Information Technology focusing on Information Security. I comprehend computers with ease and have also recently found coding to be of interest to me as well. So, it is possible that I may continue to get my masters, which is another reason why managing college debt by obtaining scholarships and grants is so important to me.
If you ask my friends, they will tell you that I am light-hearted and fun-loving, but once I am on the football field, I quickly become the opposite. I believe that I am a force to be reckoned with.
