My passion for football is more than just playing the game. Being able to play at the next level has been a dream of mine since my first day of Pop Warner Football. Football will give me the opportunity to further my education in college which in turn will give me more positive opportunities in life after college.
Football has taught me more than just the game. It has taught me teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership. Teamwork because each of my teammates come from different backgrounds and we strive to work together for a common goal. Sportsmanship because each of us has a responsibility to the team to do what is right. Leadership because sometimes a teammate might need someone to pull them back to refocus on the goal.
My grades have steadily increased through my high school career, I am working hard to raise my GPA. I feel it is important to give back to the community. In my spare time, I have spent several evenings and weekends helping with community service projects. I have spent time helping in a local nursing home playing cards with the ladies. I have volunteered at a horse riding facility that caters to the mentally handicapped. Our team sponsored a local breast cancer awareness group, hosting a Zumba-thon to raise money for breast cancer pre-screenings. We had a great night leading a group that filled our gym at school. Outside of academics, athletics and community service, I maintain a part-time job working 20 to 30 hours per week job during the school year.
In all I have been raised to be a well rounded individual that respects others, works hard for what I want, and lives life with a positive attitude. I am looking forward to new and exciting challenges during the next level of my academic and athletic career.
