Personal Statement
My name is Timothy Maldonado-Ebanks and I am from the Cayman Islands. This year is my Senior year at Grace Christian Academy. My main goals are to be a role model to my peers and show the youth that you could do anything if you put your mind to it. I have recently fallen in-love with the sport of football, wanting to pursue it as one of my biggest goals in life. I don’t have a lot of experience due to me being on an Island where there is not a lot of exposure to football, in spite of that I have 3 years of experience playing rugby for my country in 15’s and 7’s for the Rugby America North Tournaments other known as RAN 15’s and RAN 7's.
After my first year of rugby, after putting in extra hours to improve myself like going on runs 4 in the morning, walking to the gym at night, and doing my studies on stuff I learned at practice consistently, I quickly earned the spot of being one of the most valuable players and a great leader to my teammates and not just a leader to the sport but to the youth on Island through church and school. Being in the student council committee in my school for 4 years, 3 years being the treasurer and 1 year as president in senior year has sharpened my leadership skills and is still doing so.
I firmly believe that thanks to my work ethic, I can make the transition from rugby to American football and learn the game. I also have the ability to adapt to events quickly and work harder to understand them. I believe you can do anything if you put your mind to it, and if making a change requires hard work on my part, then that means hard work it's gonna have to take.
At the moment, I am an AB student with two to three C’s last year hoping to be just an AB, mainly an A student this year since it's my last year. To have a greater shot in the long run with schools and getting accepted without having worries.
