Personal Statement
I began watching and playing football at the age of 5. I watched all of the Iowa Hawkeye games and Denver Broncos games with my dad and grandparents and it filled up our fall weekends. I love the game of football: it drives me. I am an aggressive player with a motor that won't quit. What I lack in size, I make up with heart and grind. I've played quarterback, running back, guard, and linebacker. Coaches, you can put me anywhere on the field and know I'm going to play hard and get the job done. I am willing to adapt to whatever position is needed to be fulfilled.
The college experience I'm looking for is what I can only describe as a football family; a place I can make long lasting relationships. A place where others can drive me to be the best version of myself, and where I can learn to lead for years to come on and off the field. Sports Nutrition, kinesiology, sports management and marketing, and athletic training are all fields of study that I'm considering. I take good care of my body, and I want to learn from the best how to take it to the next level for my career.
Football has taught me how to see the bigger picture, meaning I know where I need to be and where my teammates need to be. It has taught me how to notice different details before the play starts. It has also given me great preparation skills that I use in the classroom (i.e. studying film is similar to studying for a test). I continue to volunteer for youth sports programs and would like to play for a college where I can continue to do so. I would like to create relationships with coaches anywhere in the country that would like to have a driven, high octane football player in their locker room. I'm a 5'11'' 195 pound football player that plays like I'm 250.
