Personal Statement
UPDATE- Fall of 2020, I was ranked the #1 long snapper in the country by 4th Down University!! Ranked #5 in the country with Kornblue and NKR! I am a 5’11”, 220-pound, 5 star, 2021 long snapper. I started playing full contact football in 5th grade. I have played offensive line, defensive line and long snapper. It all started when my coaches needed a long snapper and I was the one who could get it to the punter. At that time, it was not pretty, but it got back there. I started going to long snapping camps before the start of my freshman year, and have been attending camps ever since. I earned my first varsity letter as a snapper my junior year with perfect snaps for the entire season. I will earn my second varsity letter in the 2020 season as a long snapper and center. I continue to attend camps, and I am currently ranked in the top 20 with Hammer Kicking. Since the end of the 2019 football season I have lost around 50 pounds, improved my 40 time by almost a second, and have improved my athletic ability. I lift weights four times a week, work with a speed coach twice a week, work with a personal snapping coach twice a month, and snap every night. I am working hard so that I am able to contribute to the success of my team.
I attend numerous camps throughout the year. Some of the events include Rubio Long Snapping regional events, Rubio Las Vegas- National events, Kornblue Snapping regional events, Kornblue Snapping National Showcase, University of Wisconsin- specialist camp, and UAB- specialist camp. I am also attending the Lindenwood MEGA camp, Hammer Kicking Academy Top 40 Showcase and the Wilson pre-season All-American combine.
I am currently working on improving my GPA, as I am sitting at around a 2.8. I was not a very responsible freshman or sophomore, but this year I have maintained mostly As and a few Bs. My grade point has not been below a 3.4 for any grading periods this year. I will be taking the ACT in late April 2020.
I have donated my time to the youth sports program, as a camp volunteer and a weight lifting supervisor for the youth football program in my area. I have also been working with some of the younger kids in my area to help them with their long snapping skills.
I look forward to earning a spot in a great football program and getting a great education, as a long snapper, to continue to play a game that I love. I know that my experience, work ethic, drive to succeed, and my team over self attitude, would make me a great player for a great program.
I have a YouTube channel that has some more training video for you to review if you choose.
