Personal Statement
I became interested in football at a young age. My parents would take me to high school and college football games and I also watched football on television. Once I started playing flag football and tackle football, my passion for the game grew. My parents have been major influences in my life. My dad was the head coach of my youth sporting teams, whether football, basketball or baseball, he was there. There isn't a sporting even of mine that they are not there. I have learned a lot about myself through playing sports, especially football. The whole team has to work together and each player needs to handle their responsibilities for each play for the play to be successful. If I mess up, it could affect another teammate and may result in the play falling apart. I have to be accountable and shoulder the responsibility for knowing my role on my team. I am a good listener, pick up on concepts and skills quickly, accept responsibility for my actions, and have a strong work ethic.
My academic goals for high school would include being selected as a member of the National Honor Society, remain on the "A" honor roll, and to graduate in the top 10% of my class. Another goal of mine is to be well-prepared for the ACT test when I take it during my junior year of high school. My academic goals for college would be to pursue a major of study that I enjoy, to achieve and maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and to graduate in four years. I am looking for a solid football program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically.
