Currently, I am on a team that is a semi-finalist for the state of Iowa High School Athletic Union for football. I feel I have grown the most as a player during my freshman year playing against and watching our senior lineman successes. Many had the work ethic I wanted as a player and I watched them move on to play college ball. I knew my goal was to play college football. This year with a new coach has brought in a new perceptive of building a winning culture and coming together as a team, family, and community.
As a junior, I have not had an opportunity to be a captain of a team, but I use my leadership skills in the weight room, leading by example on the field, and in the classroom. Weights have been a large part of my life since 7th grade. Seeing the gains and pushing through the plateaus has built my character as a person. I am a goal setter and know what it takes to reach goals. All four sports I compete in have an impact of who I am as a person. Football, wrestling, track, and baseball have developed my passion to compete. In the classroom throughout my high school career, I have maintained a GPA of 3.5 to 3.7. I believe I have not just the skills to compete for a college football team, but the character and work ethic to make an impact.
