Personal Statement
My name is Corbin and I am a 17 year old high school Senior. I am interested in attending college to study either Natural Resource Laws or Coaching/Education and hope to eventually become a Game Warden or High School Athletics Coach/Teacher. I have a fairly strong academic record, and am very dedicated to my performance both off and on the field. I also work every day to make a difference in my community by being an active member in both Jr. EMS and Jr. Firefighter.
I am probably not your typical football player, because football literally changed my life. At 5, I was diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and a 2 year global developmental delay. My parents decided to have me join a club football team when I was 11 in a larger town near us. From that moment on, I found my home. When I entered the sixth grade, I couldn't even run the length of the football field down and back. Today, I am an accomplished athlete in Football, Wrestling, and Track & Field.
I haven't been as active here this year, because I have been concentrating on my educational goals, as well as the sports I am dedicated too. I have worked hard, and have increased my GPA, and I think it could go back up as high as a 3.5. I have also started working on ACT testing, and have raised my score two points recently, but will retest in the Spring and try to raise it two more points.
I would love to tell you more about my story, but it is far too much information to put here. Please reach out, and I will too, and let's set up some time to have a discussion. We can talk about how my love of this game changed my life, and how my determination to make a difference in my life, and the lives of others, can help me be an amazing representative of your football program, and your college as a whole.
