Personal Statement
I am a 6'2", 210 lb. senior, passionate about the game of football, with a 4.53 40-yard dash, as well as an 11.25 100-meter dash, earning varsity track letters as a freshman, sophomore, and junior. I was elevated to starting varsity outside linebacker for my high school team as a sophomore. I have been playing organized full-contact football since 5th grade and strive for continuous personal improvement. I am a versatile multi-purpose two-way player, willing to play any position necessary to help my team, and have been elected defensive captain. Explosion is my best attribute, achieving a 10'2" broad jump, 33.9" vertical leap, a 4.17 second agility shuttle, and a 310 lb. hang clean; this has greatly benefited my game performance. As a sophomore I scored 17 touchdowns and had 1,128 all-purpose yards in 8 games. As a junior I played middle linebacker and also handled punt return duties, registering 100 tackles, 67 solo, with 4 TFL and 2 interceptions; I received recognition on all-conference, all-metro, all-area and IowaPreps junior all-state teams. My dream has always been to play college football at the highest possible level and I will work tirelessly to achieve that goal. My preference is to play for a larger school in the Midwest region, but I am committed to researching a variety of different institutions which also have solid academic programs. My major is undecided, but my academic interests center on sports physiology/rehabilitation, athletic training, and sports medicine. My athletic goals are to be a three-year varsity starter for my high school, help my team win a state championship, and then move on to play college football, striving for excellence both on and off the field. I look forward to providing leadership for my team as a senior captain.
