Personal Statement
Dedication, resilience, humility, and integrity.
Football and life have a lot in common. The values learned on the football field will glean success off the field. I am a homegrown Iowa farm boy that is not afraid to work, and I won't give up. The values taught me by my parents, whether it is baling hay, picking up rocks, and livestock chores, have made me a better football player. Any task that needs completed I will get it done and with a good attitude. I bring these values to the football field and these values are contagious to the team. I love the football atmosphere and setting/accomplishing personal and team goals.
I have excelled in the classroom while maintaining a 4.0 during both my freshman and sophomore years. I currently have a 3.97 going into my spring semester Junior year. I have aspirations to become a veterinarian or engineer. I am involved with many extra-curricular activities while excelling in the classroom and on the field. I play piano and trombone, basketball, run track, shoot trap/skeet, participate in 4H/FFA, involved in community service, a leader in our FCA chapter, and work at a local grocery store. I feel I bring a humble spirit to everything I do. I have been taught that a good leader must first be able to serve those around him.
I appreciate the opportunity and consideration to be part of your team and football family. I am dedicated, resilient, humble, and honest. Given my talent and values, you will not be disappointed.
Sincerely,
Garrett Meyer # 68
