Personal Statement

So far I have 11 offers:    Nebraska, Ohio State, Texas, Missouri, Kansas State University, Oklahoma State University, Iowa State, Kansas University, NC State,  Louisville, and Minnesota.  I made a commitment to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.   I am a junior this year and I played this Fall for the Baldwin Bulldogs in Baldwin City, Kansas.   We ended our season, 11 and 1.   Our team was District, Bi-District, Regional, and League Champions and we got beat in Sectionals.  Playing Division 1 football is a dream, goal, AND aspiration of mine.  I've played football since the 3rd grade and have played AAU basketball to stay in shape and work on my footwork.  I started at the varsity level my freshman year in high school.  I received 1st team All League Offensive Line as a sophomore in high school!  AND Honorable Mention ALL STATE.   My latest accomplishments are FIRST TEAM ALL STATE OFFENSIVE LINE, All Simone Team (Kansas City Metro Team), First Team All League Offensive Line,  and I was voted TOP small class offensive lineman and First Team Elite 81 by 810 Varsity.  I was also Topeka Capital Journal All-State, and Wichita Eagle First team all-State. My goal was to be the best offensive tackle in the state of Kansas this year and I feel I've accomplished that with room for improvement.  I have recently participated in camps at Nebraska, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Kansas University, and the University of Arkansas.    I am working with a strength and conditioning coach who graduated from Kansas University (who is currently the strength and conditioning coach at Oral Roberts University) as well as lifting with my high school weight program at school and this summer. I want to gain 30-40 pounds of muscle in the next 2 years and I'm working hard to do that.   We have a great high school football program thanks to our head coach, Mike Berg.  He sacrifices his time and pushes us to get better and encourages us to be the best in all areas of our lives.

Academics are important to me; therefore, I will work hard in the classroom as well as on the football field.
