As a kid in a rural Kansas school I have the opportunity to compete in four sports, football, basketball, baseball, and track. In each of these sports I have competed at high levels since 9 years of age. I played throughout the Midwest for competitive teams in AAU and USSSA, as well as being chosen for a 7-on-7 team this past year. The competitive nature of these experiences has lead me to strive towards playing at the next level. My first two years of high school have made me prefer the game of football over any other. In my Freshman year the team was runner-up in the 3A State championship. This past year I earned the opportunity to start on varsity and I was one of the top three on the team in tackles and pass break ups, with 49 total tackles and 9 pass break ups, as a safety. We finished the season 9-3 and lost in the semifinal game in the state tournament. These two years of football taught me values such as teamwork, commitment, discipline, and many different leadership skills.
Along with my success on the field, I have been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout all my semesters of high school. I've been rewarded by being placed on the honor roll each of these semesters, and was inducted in to the National Honor Society. For me it is very important that the program I chose is the right fit for me, athletically and academically. My goal is to participate for a successful program and to earn my way up to a starting role, whether that's my freshman year or senior year.
