Personal Statement
I am a 6'0", 185-pound QB from Harlan, KY. As a three year starter, I have amassed over 5,000 passing yards with over 70 TDs, setting nine school records in the process. I was named KY AP All-State Honorable Mention as a junior and voted one of the Top 50 players in KY (coaches' poll) as a senior. I have a 3.6 GPA and a 27 ACT score. I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and football. I would like to pursue a university or college with an outstanding academic reputation and proven ability to help place me in a career after football, regardless of my chosen field. Ideally, my athletic environment would allow me to compete for playing time early, allowing me to be a significant part of the program's success and make a substantial impact as I grow and develop. I believe I am very capable of D1-AA success, if given the right opportunity, and I know that I could provide great leadership for any selective, DII, DIII or NAIA program.
**Update 11/21/12 - Just named by Kentucky high school coaches as District Player of the Year. Now 1 of 8 finalists for Class A Player of the Year. Considering state champ in our district and the pressure of having been Preseason POY and a top 50 player, I am very proud to have finished the year with this honor among the 48 winners across the state (can send you PDF file upon request).
**Update 12/24/12 - For second year in a row, named AP All-State Honorable Mention. Again verifying Top 10 QB status in the state of Kentucky.
