Personal Statement

I am a 6, 250 senior at Hancock County High School in Hawesville, KY, I currently have a 3.8 GPA and made a ACT 24 on 2nd attempt. I run a 5.2 on the 40 yd dash. Bench 310, squat 380. I have played varsity for 4 yrs and attended the following camps. Univ. West Virginia Football Combine 9th, 10th; FBU in Lexington, KY,Frontline Scouting Mini lineman camp, Nashville, TN, and Blue Chip Camp in Mars Hill, NC my Junior year, finishing in top 20 of 250 linemen challenge.
I wish to obtain a Masters or Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Sports Medicine, Athletic Training, or Health & Wellness Field.
I began organized football in 3rd grade. Where I played the following positions; Freshman Varsity Defensive End & Middle Linebacker; Sophomore Starting Defensive Lineman, occasional varsity offense; Junior Starting Defensive & Offensive Lineman; Freshman, Sophomore & Junior years total of 190 tackles
I believe in volunteering and have completed over 400 logged hours during my sophomore & junior years of high school. This was one requirement for the 4-H Gold Award (equivalent to Eagle Scout). I am also a Junior Shooting Sports coach, a teen leader at Kentucky State 4-H Shooting Sports Camp, and I am an instructor for the Kentucky Hunter Education Safety program. I volunteer at school and in the community on projects that benefit my community. My life has been blessed with loving and caring parents and I want to share my talents and abilities with those in need. A positive role model is needed by todays youth and I want to be a part of making this a better world.
Managing academics and sports takes a full-time commitment and I believe I have demonstrated this ability while in high school. College will require financial assistance. My parents are both self-employed but the economy has hurt both businesses. I am hoping to obtain a scholarship or other financial support to make my college dreams a reality. I am of Catholic faith, dedicated, honest, drug free, and a team player. It takes a team to win a football game and I would like to play for a team that shares that value.
