Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Dryden Duggins, I am currently a Junior at Episcopal High School of Baton Rouge, LA. Sports are my passion and  I play multiple sports: football, indoor track, and outdoor track. I have been playing the sport of football for as long as I can remember and football, in particular, holds a very special place in my heart. I would love to have the opportunity to play collegiate football and feel that I would be an asset to any team. Freshman Year (2018-2019), Episcopal Knights, our football team made it to the Quarterfinals. This season, we are working hard for the 2A state championship.  Besides striving for success in the field, I also aim for academic achievement in the classroom. My academic plan is to maintain my 4.12 GPA through the rest of high school.  This is a goal that I am on track to complete. Not only do I play football, but I also run the 110m hurdles, 300 m hurdles, 4x200 relay, and 4x400 relay in track and field. This past winter I competed in the state championship finals for 60m hurdles and I placed 3rd in the race after a fall.  In the 2019 spring track season, I was 3rd in the state for 2A hurdles going into regionals which I qualified for Regionals as a freshman. In the 2021 indoor season, I was ranked one of the top 7 hurdlers in the entire state. In all, I am a very competitive person on and off the field, I am also result and goal-oriented, which helps me be a great teammate. My strong and solid work ethic pushes me to work harder and longer than most. I love football for the game but also for the special bond and brotherhood that it creates. I will do anything for and to protect my brothers.
