Jerodd Sims '19 Recruiting Profile

Earning male athlete of the year as a junior was the highlight of my high school career. However, I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete that same year when our team began the season as a solid play-off contender and didn't make the play-offs. That experience helped me grow as a person and lead me to focus my own efforts on becoming a solid teammate and leader capable of playing at the college level.

While many athletes can boast about the success of their program, I am not as fortunate.  Last year, my team went 3-7 falling out of play-off contention despite challenging most teams (that went on to play deep into the play-offs) and competing as well stat wise in each category (except touchdowns).  However, what I can boast about is just how much I have learned about the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership even without a trophy.

I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. As a four-sport athlete earning captain recognition for several years in multiple sports, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team!
