I am Cody Nelson. I am a Senior at Slidell High School and will graduate with the class of 2014. At 6’2” and 220 lbs, I am a very versatile player with my primary position being offensive guard and I have also rotated on the defensive line. I was awarded 1st team all-district 6-5A for the 2013 season and honorable mention all-district for the 2012 season. I was also awarded an Iron Tiger award for both 2012 and 2013 seasons, for my weight room accomplishments. I am on all special teams and have experience at center, LB, and FB as well. I am also training for and have played Long Snapper. My average 15 yard snap time is .70. I also set the record at the January Chris Rubio National Event running the 40 in 4.78. Chris Rubio had this to say after camp in June 2013, "Cody is one of those Long Snappers that is so close to greatness, it almost hurts. He is built as any high school athlete I have ever come across. Chiseled and moves well on his feet. He is so strong that he could actually take some off his snap to increase the smoothness and he would be fine. Snaps the ball VERY hard and it is quick. Once his hitch is fully gone, he will dominate. Great attitude and very coachable. Like I said, potential. He is right there." I am an athlete that can and will play where it best benefits the team. I am a team player and have and will set high expectations of myself and the team. I currently have a 3.03 GPA and will continue working to bring that up. I have a 21 on the ACT and will be taking that again. I value my education and would like to find a college or university that I will be a good fit both on and off the field.
